Words, Poems and Songs are so powerful to me. Just seeing a single word, reading a poem, or hearing a song can make me cry, make me smile and even make me laugh out loud.
I have always loved to read. My favorite books as a young child were "Where the Sidewalk Ends" and "A Light in the Attic" by Shel Silverstein, The Little Princess, Anne of Green Gables. I still read those books to this day, the boys love them too. My personal library actually takes up more space in our home than my complete wardrobe, including shoes. When we include books for the whole family... we have more books than clothes, for sure.
As far as my favorite songs are concerned, I am sure I have a few. But I don't usually know most of the song titles or even the artist who sang them. But, I can usually name the year it was released and I definitely know the words. Obviously, now it is much easier to find the Artist and the song titles. But back in the day... the lyrics sheet was always my favorite part of getting a new album. Yes, I said album.
I made CD's for each of my Baby's. Those songs are still on my iPod under the playlist HAPPY SONGS. The songs make us all happy. I think it is fun that the boys know which songs belong to them and which ones are for Hope.
